Term 4 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to the last term of the year. This is always a very busy term so it pays to check the school newsletter each week to keep tabs of what is going on.

We are starting the term with a combined study with Room 1. The Caritas Social Justice unit on Migration and Refugees will be our focus. We will be looking at our own migration story. Please do your best to fill out the Family Tree sheet when it comes home. and return it to school.

Alongside this unit we will integrate The Saints strand where we will be learning about the Communion of Saints. This refers to the People of God: pilgrim people of God living in the here and now; people of god who have died and are with God; people of God who have died are in the process of purification. We will also be identifying inspiring people who we know.

Our curriculum focus this term is Technology and our writing genre is how to write Instructions. Mrs. Correria ( who will be teaching Room 2 again every Thursday afternoon this term) and myself will both be teaching this. Kiwi Sport will continue and Mrs. Bruorton and Mrs Correria will be teaching athletic skills.

Our Arts focus this term will be dance..

In Show Week we hope to visit the A&P Show, weather permitting. You have already received a notice about this. Thank you to those who have responded so promptly. If you are able to help on one of the days or both, please let us know as soon as you can. This visit is always one of the highlights in our year.

Room 1 and 2 will also be staging a Nativity play at the end of the term. The date for this will be in Week 2’s newsletter. This is another highlight of the year. We are always so grateful for the wonderful job parents make of outfitting their child for this performance. More info to come on this.
